Reece James has been speaking about Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal at the weekend, with some interesting takes on the game.

Chelsea acquitted themselves well against Arsenal yesterday, even in defeat against Arsenal. Captain Reece James was positive about the game when he spoke to the club’s official website.
‘We didn’t get the result we wanted and we are not happy about that, but there were positives,” James said.
“We started the game really well. Even when we went behind, we showed character to try and get back in the game. We ran out of time in the end. It was a tough game and we have to review and take the learnings. We have another game against Leeds in a few days and we have to get ready for that.”
He also pointed out that it’s still early days for this team under their new manager:
“It’s been two months working with the new manager and his staff and we’re enjoying it so far.”
Chelsea return to work with massive league cup game
An early Carabao Cup game is usually just a distraction from the league season. But for Chelsea, this time it’s a big deal. Not only are they playing their old rivals Leeds, they also know they are only playing in 3 competitions this year, so even the league cup is massive.
Xabi Alonso will put out close to a full strength team – likely including James – and will hope to see a return to winning ways.
