Chelsea have threatened to take legal action against Diego Costa, according to Telegraph. Matt Law in his article for Telegraph claims that The Blues’ would fine him should he cost “millions of pounds” in his potential transfer fee.
As, per the Telegraph, the Premier League champions have ordered Costa, who currently in Brazil, to return to training and get fit for selection. The striker has been in his hometown ever since Antonio Conte texted him and informed him that he’s not in his plans for this season.
The Telegraph report that the Brazilian born Spanish striker wants to join Atletico Madrid but the clubs are unable to agree on a fee for him. They note that Costa’s lawyer also warned that he “will use all possible legal mechanisms” to get Costa out of Chelsea but the club has rubbished all such possibilities.
In all seriousness, these legal threats for both parties are just to get the player out fast. They have no intentions of working with each other and are trying to find a solution.
