The 17-year-old was among several academy players involved as Alonso took charge of his first training session at Cobham, alongside senior players including Cole Palmer and João Pedro.
Walsh appeared taller and more physically developed than when he made his first-team debut just over a year ago. The midfielder has also added significant muscle during the off-season, with his development evident during yesterday’s session.
Some fans online have been very impressed by the transformation – but it’s pretty natural for a man to grow significantly at that age. Most fans are hoping he keeps growing and can become a more physically imposing force, to add to his obvious technical ability.

The academy graduate became Chelsea’s youngest player to feature in the Champions League last season and will be hoping to build on his senior breakthrough during the 2026-27 campaign.
There could be opportunities for Walsh in midfield following several departures from Stamford Bridge. Andrey Santos is expected to complete a move to Manchester United, while Enzo Fernández continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.
