Manchester United attacker Daniel James has revealed an astonishing detail.

He has struggled so far for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, spending most of his time on the bench playing second fiddle to the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Greenwod and Van de Beek.

Speaking on the official Manchester United podcast, the left-winger revealed a formidable truth that may not go well with United fans – while already being rumoured to be a Liverpool fan first. He said:

“When I signed for United, I can’t remember who it was, one of the Sky Sports pundits said: ‘he supports Liverpool’, I was thinking ‘I don’t support Liverpool’ but I never wanted to come out and say I supported Chelsea as a youngster.”

He made it clear who he supported during his time as a Swansea City player.

“When I started playing at Swansea, it was Chelsea who were the team I followed,” he said.

James made his United debut against Chelsea in the Premier League two years ago.

He also revealed who his favorite Blues were.

“I used to look at their players when I was younger. Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Didier Drogba were all players that I loved.”

Daniel James started on the wings in both Premier League games against Chelsea this season, but failed to make an impact in either of them
