Didier Drogba has offered the Chelsea faithful some reassurance after the Blues fell to a 3-2 defeat to Burnley on the opening day of the season.
It was very much a day to forget for anyone associated with Chelsea. There were clear similarities to the 2015/16 campaign, despite a second-half fight-back.
Burnley’s performance at the Bridge was a shock to the football world. The reaction of Drogba’s current employers Phoenix Rising FC on Twitter is testament to that.

Despite their concern, Drogba does not appear to have any of his own. The Ivorian replied to their tweet, and reassured the Chelsea fans that a defeat on the opening day is not season defining.
Calm down @PHXRisingFC the @premierleague is not a sprint but a marathon…Tell them @ChelseaFC https://t.co/GYJ9DbaJxV

And he’s right. There is plenty of reasons to be concerned after that performance, but there are 37 games remaining and the title is not won or lost on the opening weekend.
If we beat Tottenham at Wembley next weekend, this will all be forgotten.
