Enzo Fernandez is likely to get his wish and leave Chelsea this summer – but it won’t all be on his preferred timeline.

Kieran Gill’s transfer updates for the Daily Mail are going to be a major part of this summer, and we’ve had some good ones today.
The journalist starts with an update on the likely biggest saga of the summer for Chelsea – the latest on Enzo Fernandez, whose move away from Stamford Bridge looks both very difficult to pull off but also somewhat inevitable.
Enzo future will take some time to decide
Gill gets us all up to date: Chelsea “have told” the Mail that their valuation is £120m. Fernandez would “prefer to know his club future before representing his country and the World Cup.”
That is, unfortunately, just not a possibility. Argentina kick off their campaign in North America very soon, and a deal of this size will take a long time to organise.
Chelsea “insist they will not sell [Enzo] this summer for less than they think he is worth.” And they certainly aren’t going to get any deal done in the next 10 days. So Enzo is just going to have to sit tight until then.
In other news…
Cole Palmer is not going to the World Cup with England, and when you look at his stats from this season just gone, that should be no surprise.
Andrey Santos had a decent first season and Chelsea, and still has room to improve. But it’s not impossible to imagine him moving on.
