Enzo Fernandez looked like he’s either going to be leaving Chelsea very soon – or is going to be very unhappy about staying.

Enzo Fernandez didn’t start for Chelsea tonight, which made sense given he had played just 30 minutes in preseason.
But the situation around him is far bigger than just match fitness. He pushed to leave the club back in the spring, and while he didn’t get his wish, he’s clearly not given up on it.
He wants to go, that much is clear. Man City haven’t made Chelsea the offer they want yet, but it looks like they might in the days to come.
Fernandez trudges down the tunnel away from Chelsea players and fans

In tonight’s game, it wasn’t actually the Chelsea fans who gave him a bad reception, it was the Fulham fans, who jeered him after his antics for Argentina against England in the World Cup semi final.
At full time, he stayed for a moment with the rest of the team in front of the away fans (he didn’t applaud), then walked down the tunnel alone. There was a chance to show some commitment there, and he really didn’t take it.

In other news…
Xabi Alonso had one tricky topic he wa asked about: Robert Sanchez’s form. He avoided blaming him for his mistakes.
Cole Palmer was superb tonight, and he was in such a good move he had a joke with a Sky reporter at full time.
