Chelsea have yet to really get their summer transfer window up and running – but at Strasbourg things seem to be in gear already.

A piece in the Athletic today links Everton with a bid for our sister club’s right back, Guela Doue.

Doue a great fit for Everton – so why not Chelsea?

“There is a feeling in the market that Doue is likely to leave Strasbourg this summer, provided the right offer materialises,” their article reads.

“But he would not come cheap. The French club’s owners, BlueCo, often place lofty valuations on their players and will no doubt hope he impresses sufficiently at the World Cup to drive up the number of teams keen on Doue and their asking price. Strasbourg are aware of interest from England and other European leagues, and have rejected offers for him over the past year.”

If he were to move to Everton, it would raise the question of why Chelsea aren’t interested. We could move on Malo Gusto and bring in Doue and turn a profit. Most Blues fans would be pretty happy with that trade.

Joe Cole has suggested that Chelsea sign Marcus Rashford, who looks to be available this summer after Barcelona failed to turn his loan into a permanent move.

Chelsea are focused on improving in two positions this summer according to a revealing piece by the Athletic published today.
