Kai Havertz has emerged in recent match days as a certain solution to Thomas Tuchel’s attacking woes.

The enigmatic German has seen a slow but steady rise in quality of performances in England after moving from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of last season.

He shone most recently for Germany on the international stage against Romania, where he assisted the only goal of the game. He also scored against Iceland in a 3-0 victory.

Speaking in an exclusive with Chelsea TV, Havertz reflected on how his first season at Stamford Bridge has been. He said:

“It’s been a tough season. I know things haven’t been going smoothly but I think that’s normal when you first go abroad. It takes half a year or longer to adjust.

It’s hard for me but I’m seven months here and getting used to the place now.”

The coronavirus pandemic has put a hold on proceedings on many different aspects of life and football is no different. Speaking of which, Havertz said:

“I haven’t seen much of the country or the city of London. Every day I just go to training and then come back and spend the rest of the day at home. Hopefully there will be a big change soon and then I hope the experience in England will be much better with fans and everything.”

Antonio Rudiger is another Blue who is on duty with Germany. Both will take the field next when Germany face North Macedonia in the World Cup qualifier.
