The Frenchmen has suffered with a reoccurring hamstring issue over the last few weeks but took to the training ground for the first time under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

When N’Golo Kante was first revealed to be injured this season, his issue was described as a minor complaint – however with the Frenchman missing games on an increasingly regular basis it has become clear that his struggle for fitness has been ongoing throughout the season.

Having spent the last few weeks watching from the stands, Chelsea’s number 7 has once again returned to training as he linked up with his new manager for the first time.

As Tuchel took charge of his second session as manager, Kante joined his teammates in training ahead of Sunday’s visit from Burnley. Tuchel admitted that he had wanted to work with the French world champion for “many years” and has already mapped out his plans for integrating Kante into the team. If all goes to plan – Tuchel could have the midfielder in his team sooner rather than later.
