Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp focused on ‘semi-final’ against Chelsea

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has described Sunday’s fixture with Chelsea as another semi-final after his team reached the Champions League final on Wednesday, Sky Sports reports.

Despite succumbing to a 4-2 defeat away to Roma, Liverpool merely avoided embarrassment beating the Italian side 7-6 on aggregate.

Klopp’s men are also flying high in the Premier League in third place, six points ahead of Chelsea going into the clash at Stamford Bridge.

When speaking in his press conference on Friday, the German coach is quoted by Sky Sports insisting that he is not thinking about the European cup final against Real Madrid.

“Both games are very, very important. We have how I see it, two semi-finals against Chelsea and Brighton. There is no chance to think about anything else.”

Willian scored Chelsea’s equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield in the 1-1 draw earlier this season.

Chelsea simply must beat Liverpool to keep any hopes of finishing in the top four alive as well as winning other league matches against Huddersfield at home and Newcastle away respectively.

Along with Antonio Conte’s team needing to better Liverpool’s result against Brighton or hoping Tottenham lose two of their last three league games.
