Struggling Chelsea defender calls on teammates to pull off a miracle this Saturday

Marcos Alonso has encouraged his Chelsea teammates to bounce back from the loss to Wolves against Manchester City this weekend.

Many Chelsea fans would probably like Alonso to look himself in the mirror before talking about anyone else. The Spaniard started the season in emphatic form, but his form has drastically nose-dived, with his past two performances being nothing short of awful.

Alonso is fortunate as Maurizio Sarri does not appear to have much faith in Emerson Palmieri, else he may well have lost his starting position by now. He was at fault during our loss to Wolves, but he was by no means the only poor performer.

The whole team let the travelling supporters and their manager down with their collapse at the Molineux, and Alonso has called on his fellow teammates to use our fixture with City this weekend as a way to bounce back from the loss.

Alonso is quoted by the Express saying:

“If we lose we are going to be 13 points from the top and that’s a lot, but we have to think, prepare for the game well and not pay attention to the table at the moment.”

“It’s the perfect opportunity to come back. It will be a great game for sure, and everyone will be very motivated to play in it.”

“We are very disappointed after the defeat to Wolves but it’s back to work straight away and we will work harder to start playing better as a team.”

City are unbeaten this season and look as though they’re going to win the Premier League at a canter. They’re beatable, though, Lyon proved it in the Champions League. We have to believe we can pull this off, else we stand no chance.
