Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has provided Chelsea with a blueprint to keep Eden Hazard out the clutches of Real Madrid.

No matter how many summers pass with Hazard remaining at Stamford Bridge, Real Madrid continue to be linked. Their interest has refused to subside, and this time we face the possibility of them actually poaching him.

Hazard has continually revealed his desire to play in the famous Los Blancos shirt. The Belgian is also entering the final 18 months of his contract. The probability of him following in Thibaut Courtois’ footsteps is increasing.

Ballack hasn’t given up hope of Hazard remaining a Chelsea player. He believes that the club can still convince him to stay, but there’s several things that the Blues need to do in order to force the 27-year-old into a change of heart.

The former Chelsea midfielder is quoted by Goal saying:

“You have to pay him a lot of money! But more importantly, you have to give him a vision. You have to tell him how important he is, ask him what he wants from the club and to give him a little bit more responsibility.”

“You need to find out what he wants as well, ask him if he’s happy. Of course, you want to win something and be as successful as possible as an individual player. It is normal to look around and think, ‘With what club can I achieve that with?'”

Ballack was mentioned as a potential contender for the technical director role in wake of Michael Emenalo’s departure. He looks to have his head screwed on straight – sign him up!
