Moises Caicedo took the player section of the press conference today and was asked some tough questions, considering the relaxed context of a preseason friendly.
Top of the list was Enzo Fernandez – his future has been in question for months, and time is running out before he’s expected back at Chelsea. Of course Caicedo wasn’t going to give us any huge revelations, but he did plant his flag and say he hoped his midfield partner came back.
“I love Enzo. He knows I have a lot of respect for him, because, as we know, the player he is. Not just the player, he is a great person. I want him to stay, but I am not going to talk about that. If he stays here, it’s going to be massive for us,” Caicedo said.
Caicedo on easy contract renewal

When it came to his own future, things were more straightforward. Caciedo signed a new contract, and according to him didn’t even have to do much negotiating:
“They didn’t say anything [to me when I renewed my contract]. I just wanted to keep playing for the club. They want me to renew and I said yes, because I want to become a legend here.”
If only Enzo had the same attitude, we’d be in a much better spot…

Jon Obi Mikel is happy with a lot of the business Chelsea have done – but there’s one thing which is still puzzling him.
