John Terry has taken to Instagram to share his opinion on the incident which led to Aston Villa coming away from Stamford Bridge with a point.

Olivier Giroud scored a header from a flowing Chelsea move to open the scoring. The Blues, however, failed to extend their lead, and Villa equalised early in the second half.

There was a point of contention with the Villa equaliser, however – Andreas Christensen was left injured on the ground after a collision with Jack Grealish, and Villa played on for Anwar El Ghazi to score.

Responding to a fan’s comment on Instagram, Chelsea legend and current Aston Villa assistant head coach John Terry, said dismissively that ‘he should have got up’.

Whether this is due to too many simple fouls being given in modern football, and Christensen’s attempts to win one, or a weak mentality, change is needed.

Even if Christensen might not have been able to stop the goal, his mentality matters, and Frank Lampard would have taken note of that.
