Opinion: Pundits and ex-pros criticising Chelsea is just what we need

Chelsea appear to be hated in club football in the UK again folks, and we’ve been here before many times.

Roman Abramovich is ruining football again and I am here for it. When pundits, ex-pros, Journos and anyone else start over-criticising Chelsea, having needless digs, or coming up with random odd opinions against us, you know we are doing well!

And the latest round of ‘opinions’ come right after Chelsea win the Club World Cup, what a coincidence! But you know what, let them hate, let them criticise, because that is when you know the mighty Chelsea are winning trophies.

The first came from former Chelsea player ironically, Craig Burley, who called the Club World Cup ‘plastic’ and made some odd comments about Manchester City carrying on winning in the Premier League whist we were being crowned Champions of the world!

News flash, Craig, Chelsea had to win the hardest domestic trophy in Europe, the Champions League, to qualify for the Club World Cup, then we had to win two more knockout matches to lift the trophy against decent sides.

Before that, we had to win knockout games against Atletico Madrid, Porto, Real Madrid, and then Manchester City! Sounds very ‘plastic’ Craig lad. It’s no surprise though, he’s as good at punditry than he was at football, terrible.

Then I see Neil Warnock saying he doesn’t think that Cesar Azpilicueta is a good defender and he gets a lot of luck. I don’t even know where to start on this one. I guess he got to be captain of Champions League winning Chelsea by luck as well, Neil? He’s literally won it all at the club now, there is certainly no luck involved there. Oh dear.

But as I say, it’s only a good thing when they are all talking about us in this way. You know what though? Chelsea are not close to Manchester City yet and we all know that, we have a gap to close there and that is what we are trying to do now. So, if these pundits said valid things like that rather than the litter above, then it wouldn’t be as bad. But maybe, just maybe, it wouldn’t hurt to just say well done for winning a major trophy?

Chelsea living rent free again, you love to see it!
