Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has slammed Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko after another disappointing performance from the Frenchman, the Sports Review reports.
Bakayoko lacked creativity and found it difficult to compete with the intensity of the match as the Blues succumbed to our fourth league loss of the season.
When speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp told the public what he thought of Bakayoko’s performance in the first half.
The Sports Review quotes Redknapp saying:
“It strikes me as a tactical move [Pedro coming on for Bakayoko]. Bakayoko was poor. What Pedro does is given them a bit of pace.”
Spell on the sidelines may do Bakayoko good
The recent performances of the summer signing are worrying to say the least.
Even though it’s his first season in the Premier League, Bakayoko’s displays must improve.
If Danny Drinkwater wasn’t ill perhaps Antonio Conte would have selected the Englishman over Bakayoko.
Time on the bench may help Bakayoko re-gather his thoughts and show what he can do in training.
