What sources close to Chelsea winger are saying about his feelings after 27 minutes played

Geovany Quenda has barely played for Chelsea so far this season, and that doesn’t look set to change even after the international break.

A lot of talk at Chelsea going into this international break was about Estevao. The winger has yet to make a Premier League start this season, and is apparently not happy about it.

There is another winger who is in an even worse situation, although reporting today claims he’s willing to be patient.

Geovany Quenda joined permanently from Sporting in the summer, and unlike Estevao he’s not even been getting minutes off the bench. He’s got a total of 27 all season.

Quenda more confident that he should be over regular first team minutes

But the youngster was told that this would be the case, and is willing to be patient, according to Football.London:

“The Portuguese wide man understands the situation he is in at the moment; being a teenager, moving to a brand-new country and league. He is prepared to be patient for his opportunity to present itself, according to sources close to the player,” they write.

Those same sources say that Quenda is “calm”, knowing “regular first team minutes will eventually come this season.”

Will they, though? Our front 3 is set, and Estevao is fourth choice. Then there are Pedro Neto and Marco Palestra taking up wing back slots. It’s going to be really tough for Quenda to get more than substitute minutes.

In other news…

There were plenty of international debuts around the world in the last 3 weeks, and Chelsea have their eye on a player who made one of them.

Chelsea have a teenage defender of their own to worry about – and a January loan is looking increasingly likely.
