More problems for Conte as star player hesitates over signing new contract

Antonio Conte

Contract talks between Chelsea and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have been put on hold again, according to the Daily Mail.

This is becoming a real concern. As the Daily Mail report, Courtois is attracting interest from La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are reportedly in the market for a replacement for Keylor Navas. It’s claimed that they are prepared to shelf their long-term interest in Manchester United stopped David de Gea in order to pursue Courtois.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois won the Premier League Golden Glove last term.

They will be offered plenty of encouragement by the Belgian’s reluctance to put pen-to-paper on a contract extension with Chelsea, too.

The Daily Mail report that Courtois has decided to postpone contract talks until after our upcoming games against Leicester City and Barcelona.

We are bemused by Courtois’ public insistence that he will sign a new deal and continual reluctance to do so. We need to get this situation resolved at the soonest possible opportunity.
