Three stats that show how badly Maurizio Sarri is struggling at Chelsea

Where do we even start? Chelsea were defeated 4-0 by Bournemouth yesterday evening, and the stats show just how much of a shocker it was for Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea fans were incredibly optimistic when Sarri signed along the dotted line. We believed we had finally found a manager capable of instilling an attractive style of play, while still being able to win us the silverware that we crave season after season.

Perhaps we were wrong.

Sarri’s squad is far from perfect, but he has a group full of players who have won Premier League titles, the Champions League, the World Cup – and SO much more. He hasn’t won a thing, yet he feels it necessary to public criticise his players’ mentalities and motivation.

What Sarri ought to be doing instead is considering the magnitude of our loss to Bournemouth. It was one of the worst nights of the Roman Abramovich era to date, and the stats reinforce just how badly he has been struggling at Stamford Bridge.

We are some way off of asking for Sarri’s head to be on the chopping block. The problems at this club run much deeper than the manager. However, he needs to get his sh*t together or faces the real possibility of being the latest manager sacked by Roman.
