The French Lique 1 is in a bit of a dire financial situation that could get a lot worse [as reported via The Financial Times], and some of the big clubs around Europe could look to take advantage of the situation and sign some of the top talent from France at a cut-price fee.
Chelsea have been linked with some players in that league before, but here are 4 players that they might look to sign if the situation does not improve.
Obviously with the PSG links with Thomas Tuchel now being head coach at Chelsea, there might be a couple of players there to take a look at.
Kylian Mbappe (PSG – FWD)
One of the best around right? And yes I agree with exactly what you are thinking, a bit of a pipe dream for Chelsea. But we know he liked Chelsea as a kid and even played here in the academy on trial, add that to the Tuchel and PSG links, and the fact his contract is up next summer – anything can happen.

Marquinhos (PSG – CB/DM)
Fits the bill of the type of centre back Chelsea are looking for, and again bear in mind the Tuchel and PSG links, if things go in Chelsea’s favour they might be tempted to make a cheeky offer for him.
Boubacar Kamara (Marseille – DM/LB/CB)
A player who has been linked with Chelsea [via Si Phillips Talks Chelsea] recently and can play both as a centre back and a defensive midfielder, two areas where Chelsea have been looking at. I truly believe this is a rumour that you might want to keep a very close eye on in the coming months.
Boubakary Soumare (Lille – DM/CM)
Again, the 21-year old has been heavily linked with Chelsea [recently by Goal] in recent windows, so it is certainly worth keeping a very close eye him.
Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes – DM/CM)
A real rising star who is attracting a lot of global interest from the top clubs already, and even at 18-years old you can see him soon making his big move.
