Callum Hudson-Odoi now has the perfect chance to nail down starting spot and deserves run of games

Whatever has happened between Callum Hudson-Odoi and Frank Lampard must now be ignored and we must focus on the present; and that present is the young winger being afforded and trusted regular game time as a starter in the first team.

Hudson-Odoi came on for Chelsea when they were 2-0 down against Arsenal on Boxing Day and completely changed the intensity and very almost helped his team make a comeback. He setup Tammy Abraham to score his goal, and you feel he would have provided the threat to get an equaliser if only Jorginho had scored his penalty.

But now is the perfect opportunity to give the 20-year a run of starts in the Chelsea line up. He has been working VERY hard in training and doing extra work in his own time, and his attitude has been much more focused from the player who had broken Covid-19 restrictions on a couple of occasions earlier in the season, frustrating his manager.

He has since proven his maturity and his determination to succeed at the club, and his energy and intensity on the pitch has seen the results of this.

Lampard has confirmed that Hudson-Odoi WILL start the match against Aston Villa tonight, and this is where he can really make his point.

Chelsea need that quality, those special players that can make things happen, and Hudson-Odoi is your guy to do that.

With Timo Werner struggling and Hakim Ziyech not yet back to full fitness and might not be for a few more games, this is Hudson-Odoi’s chance to nail down a regular spot on the wings for Chelsea.

He can perform so well and make it impossible for Lampard to drop him, that is what I want to see now and believe we may see now.
