Chelsea Manchester United

Chelsea take on Manchester United in this weekend’s big game, taking place on Monday night at Stamford Bridge.

We asked Dale O’Donnell, owner of Stretty News about his thoughts on the game, Frank Lampard, and Chelsea’s battle with Manchester United for a Champions League spot.

1. We’ve asked you before about OGS and his future – are you seeing more progress now?

Well, the young lads are progressing but that’s just about it. I don’t think the players have a greater understanding of what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants them to do, or if he’s the right man to lead United in the future.

The results are inconsistent at best but at least he will be credited for laying some important foundations. I’ve been really impressed with Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood, though there are few positives elsewhere from a United perspective.

2. It seems pressure is starting to build around this story of dodgy dealings back at Molde, any chance that this will affect the United dressing room ahead of Monday’s game?

For legal reasons I won’t be commenting on the Solskjaer/Solbakken story just yet. It doesn’t look good for either of them!

3. I think there’s a very good chance Chelsea go after Timo Werner this summer – do you think Man United will be rivaling us for his signature?

Bloody hope so! I’m split between Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner.

4. In completed transfer news, Bruno Fernandes is finally a Manchester United player – how much of an impact will he make in the rest of this season?

He’s a class player with a good attitude. You’ll see him track back and fight for the ball as well as cut defences apart with his passing. I think he will cause your defence problems on Monday night.

5. Do you think United can beat Chelsea and Spurs to that top 4 place?

It all depends on this game. Win and I think we’ll overtake you eventually.

6. As an outsider, what impression has Frank Lampard made on you as a manager in his debut top flight season?

Good – I like listening to him talk and he’s trying his best to get a young team to attack in the Premier League. He’s brave but needs time to develop other aspects of his coaching, such as defending. Chelsea really should give him time.

7. What’s your predicted score for Monday night’s game?

Chelsea 1-2 Manchester United.
