Well, we are still going folks, just about. Chelsea are still playing matches and have a game on against Brentford tomorrow evening, as things stand.

That could change at any moment of course but as of now, the pair will meet in the League Cup Quarter Final tomorrow evening.

It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!

Chelsea have a mass amount of players out with Covid-19 and injuries, and we have been forced to call up a host of the academy players in order to fill a squad tomorrow.

Here is the injury/Covid table..

A whopping 10 players unavailable for the match tomorrow, and Thomas Tuchel has also hinted at the need to rest other players as well with Mateo Kovacic still clearly unfit to play from the start against Wolves on Sunday and was bought in sooner than they wanted.

So let’s have a look who can/might line up tomorrow..

(3-4-3): Mendy: Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger: James, Kovacic, Jorginho, Alonso: Ziyech, Mount, Pulisic.

Now this on paper looks OK, right? However, I believe we could see more players rested due to facing Aston Villa at the weekend and trying to protect players. Tuchel even pretty much said that. So who might come in to start instead?

Well, maybe something like this..

(3-4-3): Mendy: Azpilicueta, Mbuyamba, Rudiger: James, Saul, Jorginho, Vale: Pulisic, Mount, Fiabema.

There are also strong shouts from Dion Rankine, Lewis Hall, Jay Wareham, and others.

Vale can play as a left wing back and might give Alonso a rest. I think Rudiger might be OK as he seems to not get fatigued, Azpilicueta might be given a rest, but then Christensen could be back for Villa so he might play one more. Then I think Kovacic will only be used from the bench as he still isn’t fully fit, so Saul will likely start but we do also have Xavier Simons who is a good natural 6. Bryan Fiabema could get the nod up top.

We will see!
