Today has gone from absolutely nothing, to two potentially quite advanced deals for Chelsea.
Chelsea fans have been growing frustrated with the lack of solid transfer news, we have heard bits and pieces and interest here and there, but nothing solid in terms of positive steps forward with any of our targets.
Frustrations have boiled over due to Manchester United’s busy activity as well, but as I have been trying to reiterate for some time now, Chelsea are trying so hard to keep their business as under wraps as possible, and that is what they are largely doing right now.
Not one Journalist knew anything about Crystal Palace being deep in negotiations with Chelsea to sign Marc Guehi, until the day he was having a medical at the club, then days later he joined them.
Again, without trying to blow my own trumpet too much here, not one Journalist knew that Chelsea were very advanced and very close to confirming the signing of goalkeeper, Marcus Bettinelli, that has broken today. I had the news told to me yesterday as an exclusive for my own website, Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, but nothing else was out there on this until today.
And whilst there was whispers and some reports of our faint interest in Jules Kounde, which I also got exclusively told about back in June as you can see here, nothing has come out about Chelsea’s legit move to sign him until today, where they now appear to be deep in negotiations to sign the defender.
I think this just reiterates some need for a bit more patience and trust that things ARE going on behind the scenes with Chelsea working on signing players, I mean nobody expected Kounde and Bettinelli to be our two potential first signings of the summer did they?
That’s just how we work our business. Stuff comes out of course, but Chelsea largely try to keep it inside.
