Opinion: Frank Lampard is a good fit for Everton but they must show more patience

Some people would even say that Chelsea should have shown more patience with Frank Lampard, but ironically I am here to tell Everton that IF they do appoint Frank Lampard as their next manager, they simply MUST be patient.

I think Lampard is a good up and coming young coach, and one who will get better and better. He has an attacking style of play in his mind that he wants to perfect, but he never really had the time to implement it at Chelsea.

It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!

For what it is worth, it was probably the time for Chelsea to make the managerial change, because that is the nature of the beast at this club and when you slip so far down the league and lose key members of the dressing room, there often isn’t a way back. But that doesn’t mean that Lampard is a bad manager, I actually think he’s a good manager, and will only get better and better.

He is suited to this new project at Everton and if, it’s still a big IF, they do employ him, they will be getting an exciting young manager with ideas, plans, and massive ambition to succeed. Give him what he wants to build the squad he wants, and give him the support and patience to do so, and he will not fail in this role I am sure of it.

It would be a great job for him to take as well and will be a real challenge, but something he can really focus his time and efforts on and doing it at a big club like Everton.

I think he would soon form a bond with their fans, and I also think he will attract some top players to Everton. Some of his signings at Chelsea have openly said they came for Lampard, he has great pull power and a great reputation in the game despite not succeeding at Chelsea.

His first season at the club he certainly DID succeed though. With a transfer ban, losing Eden Hazard, integrating the youth players, Lampard worked a miracle to get top four and was very unlucky not to win a Cup final. It could have been very different, but Everton presents a big opportunity for him, and for them, IF they take the small risk on him.
