Opinion: It seems inevitable that Chelsea are recalling Emerson Palmieri

Out of all the players we have seen linked with Chelsea to come in and replace Ben Chilwell this month, it is the recall of Emerson Palmieri that has always felt the most likely.

Even though Chelsea will have to fork out a small compensation fee, he has always been seen as the easiest and cheapest option to come in. He knows the Premier League, he knows the players, he knows the manager, and they all know him, it’s just ‘easy’ really.

It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!

Of course the Lyon manager has said that Emerson is staying with them for the rest of this season, but I don’t buy it. The ball is in their court of course, but I feel like the tide has turned here now.

We had some further information on this today at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, and we are told that Chelsea are still pursuing Emerson with hope growing.

As well as this, French reports are starting to claim that Emerson actually wants to return to Chelsea, and that could be the game changer.

A friend of mine got in touch today and he is much more active on Instagram than me. He informed me that Emerson had been liking recent Chelsea Instagram posts this week, and it had been ages since he liked any of their posts before this, which is really quite telling, right?

It has a feel of being inevitable now, it feels like Emerson will soon be back at Stamford Bridge whether you are for that move or against it!

We’ll see what happens of course, if Lyon actually do release him, but right now he has Covid-19 so we have to wait until at least Friday anyway when he comes out of his isolation.

Wasn’t my first choice to replace Chilwell, but it is what it is and I do get it.
