You have probably spotted the noise out in social media right now, with reports that Chelsea might consider Romelu Lukaku as a backup plan to their pursuit of Erling Haaland this summer.
The Telegraph have put a report out today, and it mentions Lukaku’s name as an alternative to Haaland, if a deal cannot be done there or he chooses a different team to join.
I actually reported on my website three weeks ago that Chelsea were considering Lukaku as a backup plan!
Haaland MUST be priority for me, due to his age and his incredibly high ceiling. He is only 20-years old and will improve even more. He will absolutely be one of the best players in the world very soon.
But for me, Lukaku is THE ONLY alternative who would come close. Chelsea want a goal scorer, an all-round striker, an absolute world beater. Lukaku is your man.
He has proven over the years to be a goal-scoring machine, and he is an absolute beast of a player right now in unstoppable form.
Not only will he get you bags of goals, but he has a great mentality, and his all-round contributions over the pitch is top standard.
Chelsea made a massive mistake selling him, and they even tried to sign him back before he joined Manchester United. But if Haaland fails, then they must go all out for Lukaku.
Would they get him? I don’t think it’s impossible, with the rumours of Inter’s finances not being great right now. Will he come back to Chelsea? Now that I have no hesitation in answering, I truly believe he would jump at it right now, joining an exciting project and having a chance to prove everyone at the club behind selling him wrong? He’d be there in an instant.
A fairy-tale story right?
To sum up. Get Haaland, if not, get Lukaku!
