If you are a Chelsea fringe player looking on from the bench watching Chelsea and the players on the pitch perform so well at these early stages of the season, underneath the joy you are obviously feeling, there will be some mixed feelings.
After all, these guys are here to play football, and many of them are not even getting a minute of game time right now.

But with the beauty of the Cup competitions comes rotation, and a chance for some of these players to shine and hopefully take the opportunity to impress Thomas Tuchel with both hands.
Tuchel is highly likely to rest a number of key players on Wednesday night against Aston Villa in the League Cup third round, and this will bring chances for others.
Here are three players to watch…
Callum Hudson-Odoi
It’s been so frustrating watching his career at Chelsea so far and I really hope that he doesn’t end up as the ‘nearly man’. He has bags of quality and potential, but I really feel that for him to show that now he needs a run of games in his best position, and tomorrow could bring that.
With the likes of Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, and Kai Havertz not really being in the greatest form in recent matches, and with Christian Pulisic out injured still, there is a real chance for Hudson-Odoi to stake a claim. If he is selected in one of the attacking positions tomorrow night, ideally on the left, and he puts in the game of his life, he surely cannot be ignored for the next few games.
Trevoh Chalobah
I believed that after the form he showed at the start of the season, he could soon become a key player in Tuchel’s squad. However, the performances of those ahead of him in his position have been nothing short of world class, meaning it has been impossible for him to really get a chance.
He should start tomorrow and once again be given a chance to show what he can do. If he goes out and puts in another fine performance, it will only do him wonders and increase Tuchel’s trust in him, which will bode well for the rest of the season.
Saul Niguez
The Spaniard had a pretty dreadful debut a couple of weeks ago and has not played since, but he is very likely to get another chance tomorrow night against the same opposition.
He will need to soon adapt to the intensity and physicality of the Premier League, but I believe he will come into this one with much more confidence with a lot less expectations on his shoulders. He could really show us what he is about tomorrow.
