Mason Mount is now not only finally being accepted and recognised as a top class player by his own clubs fanbase, he is now being recognised by the world wide footballing community and getting the plaudits he deserves.

Oddly, a very small section of online Chelsea fans gave Mount a lot of stick and abuse last season and even this season; some of them didn’t rate him or harshly overly criticised him. However, most of us fans knew the player we had on our hands, and he has done even more to prove that by assisting the goal to see him and Chelsea become European Champions over the weekend – perfect response to the haters.

As well as being a European Champion, Mount has now also been nominated for both the Premier League player of the season this year, as well as the Premier League young player of the season.

It’s time we put to bed this whole, is he good enough? Does he create enough? Does he score enough debate?

Mason Mount creates chances in his sleep and he is only second to Lionel Messi in chances created in Europe this season. Just because these have not been converted by his team mates to turn them into assists, this does not mean that Mason Mount cannot create.

He has also come up with some very important goals in only his second season as a Premier League footballer. This kid is a baller, and he is getting better by the day. I have no doubt he is a world class player in the making and not only that, he will have a massive impact for England this summer in the Euros as well, just as he has done for Chelsea this season.

He is a quality all-round midfielder, and he does SO much of the dirty work as well as the technical stuff, he has it all in his locker and this is what will make him stand out even more in the years to come. His attitude and confidence is up there with the best I’ve ever known.

Mount is probably only second to N’Golo Kante being written on this Chelsea team sheet right now, and that says all you need to know.

He is rated highly by us real fans, highly by Frank Lampard, highly by Thomas Tuchel, highly by English pundits, highly by players, and highly in the whole world of football.

If you still don’t rate Mason Mount, it’s time to find a new sport to follow… This debate is well and truly dusted, over, gone.
