Tammy Abraham has been a regular starter for Chelsea this season and he’s also been a regular goalscorer, notching up 11 goals for The Blues across all competitions so far.
He has been playing so well that his two backup options Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud cannot get a look in, with the latter now likely to leave in January.
However, one of them may well be getting a chance to start one or two of the next matches, due to a rare injury for Abraham sustained in their match against Valencia in the Champions League last night.
The 22-year old was forced off at half time of the Blues 2-2 draw in Spain after landing awkwardly and damaging his hip.
The injury is reported to be ‘not too serious’, and is hopefully just bad bruising. But it looks quite likely to keep him out of Saturday’s match against West Ham at the very least.

So up steps Giroud, or Batshuayi? Chelsea fans have been casting their votes, and out of almost 7,000 votes, these Blues fans want to see Giroud starting with 66% of the votes!

Giroud has hardly played at all this season under Frank Lampard, and he will certainly be eager to prove a point or two if he is selected.

It just goes to show how far he has come on if he is now considered as the most important midfielder at the club ahead of N’Golo Kante, who is often described as the indispensable one by many.
