Opinion: The players Chelsea need to clear out

Aubameyang Pulisic Koulibaly Ziyech Chelsea Transfers

Although this list is going to be massively unrealistic simply because it is too big, wages are too high, and a lack of suitors, I have complied a hypothetical list of current Chelsea players that need to be sold, in my opinion.

It’s so important more than ever right now that we voice our opinions on everything and make ourselves heard, because things need to change massively if we are to get our Chelsea back and get challenging back at the top. I do still believe we will be there again at some stage pretty soon.

And to do this, we need to start with our summer squad clear out. Craig Burley honed in on Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as not being fit to wear the Chelsea shirt on ESPN after our defeat to Arsenal this week, but damn there is more than just him.

Here are the players I want to see politely shown the exit door at our club this summer with no return.

Edouard Mendy

I don’t think he has a bad attitude at all, I actually think his mentality is quite good. But we need to sell both goalkeepers and sign a world class number one.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

I still have nightmares about seeing him with the captains armband on. Get a taller keeper please and thank you.

Kalidou Koulibaly

If he wanted to stay for depth I’m OK to keep him. But would be more than content with him sold.

Marc Cucurella

I feel harsh for writing him off right now, I really do. But he’s not shown enough for me to believe we should keep him and so far as of now, he’s been a massive waste of money.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Will always adore the man, but his ‘leadership’ is horrific. Too busy fighting with Referees than actually fighting to win games. Also been in major decline for two season and should be nowhere near a Chelsea starting Xl anymore, with all due respect, and I do have a lot of it for him regardless.

Mateo Kovacic

Again, it pains me to see the captains armband on this guy. I used to rate him highly, and I still think he’s a good technical football player, but my god has he digressed majorly this season. Sell now before it’s too late.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

I actually wouldn’t mind keeping him for depth. I also have no issues at all with his attitude and mentality. But I think for both parties it’s best to part ways now.

Denis Zakaria

We need a true DM.

Conor Gallagher

Nothing to do with his attitude, I think he has a fantastic attitude and there are scenarios where I would keep him for depth. But in terms of rebuilding and balancing FFP, I think we can sell him. I also don’t think he is much better than a rotation player for us. I think he would shine back at a club like Crystal Palace though.

Christian Pulisic

Goodbye and good luck.

Joao Felix

I’m certainly not a Felix hater, and I appreciate what he can do. We’ve certainly not seen the best of him and I’ve been on record saying how much I rate the player. But I’m not dropping the large fee on him wanted by Atletico, and I also don’t want loaned players at the club.

We need players who are attached to Chelsea. I also think we could get a more creative attacking midfielder.

Joao Felix

Raheem Sterling

My best friend told me he wasn’t good enough anymore when we signed him, and he was bang on. He’s terrible and has been an absolute disgrace in recent games.

Hakim Ziyech

Cannot believe that this PSG player is still getting game time for us, I’m angry about that. I also feel a bit for him, because it’s not his fault his PSG move failed, and he must also be livid about that still.

Kai Havertz

Another one who is probably on the edge and I wouldn’t be upset if we kept him either. But bottom line, I think we should cash in and sell him.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Obviously…

Romelu Lukaku

No, do NOT bring him back. We have attitude and mentality problems and people want Lukaku back? PLEASE.

That’s the players I think we should sell, for multiple reasons and not just bad attitudes/weak mentalities.

Gut out the bad eggs, and only then can we move forward.
