Cesc Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas scored when Chelsea defeated Everton 2-0 at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season.

Cesc Fabregas is eagerly awaiting Chelsea’s return to the Champions League, the player has revealed on his Instagram page.

The Spaniard has plenty of experience in the competition having featured in it for Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea, but was forced to watch it on the tele last season as the Blues didn’t qualify.

However, having won the Premier League, Chelsea are back – and so is Fabregas.

Fabregas has won virtually everything there is to win on club and international level, but the Champions League has proven to be illusive. The closest he got to winning the competition was with Arsenal in 2006, where the Gunners were defeated by Barcelona.

He will be having another crack at it this campaign, as the Blues embark on their quest to win it for the second time in their 112 year history.

Fabregas took to his Instagram page to express his excitement at returning to the competition. Chelsea face Qarabag midweek in the first fixture of the group stage.

Solid game yesterday. I can’t wait to be back in the Champions League. 😅
