Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi has taken to Twitter to deny laughing at fellow striker Alvaro Morata during Chelsea’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
Shortly after Chelsea’s record signing had dragged his penalty wide of Petr Cech’s goal, the Belgium international was captured laughing behind Alvaro Morata, as the Metro reported.
With Morata having only trained with Chelsea for a couple of weeks, the Belgium striker was selected ahead of his Spanish counterpart on Sunday as the pair compete for a starting place in Antonio Conte’s starting XI.
However, after being accused of celebrating Morata’s miss, the Blues striker was quick to deny the claims that he had laughed at the expense of his new teammate.
On Monday morning, the 23-year old posted on his official Twitter account to deny the claims that had been made against him.
Wow lol some people really believe I laughed at my teammate and/or us losing ? Sorry to disappoint but I wasnt 😕

The Chelsea striker wrote on his Twitter feed: “Wow lol some people really believe I laughed at my teammate and/or us losing?
“Sorry to disappoint but I wasn’t.”
Batshuayi joined Chelsea from Marseilles last summer, but was unable to secure a first team place with Diego Costa ahead of him during the 2016-17 campaign.
However, with Diego Costa seemingly out of Conte’s first team plans this season, the Belgium international will get a chance to compete for a regular starting place this season.
