When Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, everyone expected him to take the place of Nemanja Matic in the starting Xi with Cesc Fabregas being on the bench. After the former Monaco star impressed on his debut against Tottenham, it was all but certain that that would be the case.

However, when the team sheets came out on Sunday, it was Fabregas starting ahead of Bakayoko and the Spaniard did not let the chance to impress slip by.

He put in a man of the match performance that included a beauty of a goal to give Chelsea the vital lead. The happiness on his face showed his relieved he was!
