Andreas Christensen

In recent seasons, Andreas Christensen has firmly established himself among the most promising young centre-backs on the planet.

After impressing throughout Chelsea’s academy ranks, the Dane earned himself a two-year loan to Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach. His stint at Borussia-Park really was the making of him.

Christensen fast became a cornerstone in Gladbach’s starting eleven, and subsequently gained invaluable experience in one of Europe’s toughest leagues, as well as the Champions League.

After impressing in Germany, Antonio Conte opted to keep Christensen as part of his squad, and he has repaid the Italian’s faith thus far.

Christensen was phenomenal at Wembley as the Premier League champions brushed aside arch-rivals Tottenham, and scarcely put a foot wrong during their 6-0 triumph over Qarabag in the Champions League.

He has enjoyed a stellar start to life as a senior Chelsea player, and this stat provided by Squawka on Twitter proves it. We have David Luiz’s ready-made heir waiting in the wings!
