Chelsea fans are desperate to find out the status of Moises Caicedo – but their manager isn’t giving much away at all.

Moises Caicedo has played just a handful of minutes for Chelsea this season, and fans are obsessed over his return.
Not only is he a top player, he’s also the exact central midfield force it feels like this team is missing. There’s a growing (perhaps overoptimistic) view that his return instantly levels this team up.
But we still don’t know when we will see him, and Xabi Alonso’s press conferences aren’t revealing anything more than the bare minimum.
“He’s getting closer and tomorrow we will make the final decision,” in his usual vague manner.
Caicedo could benefit massively from one more missed game
As we wrote earlier in the week, we think Caicedo will sit this one out on the basis that he can then justifiably miss the entire three week international break with Ecuador, allowing a nice long break to get up to speed.
It might mean sacrificing points tomorrow night, but it’s a risk worth taking if it really means he gets that time off. Having him come into mid-October with effectively zero minutes in his legs could give him a brilliant platform for the rest of the season.
