Chelsea’s transfer business is not done yet. They signed Emi Martinez today, are likely to sell Enzo Fernandez and loan or sell a few more.
One player we’d expect to be safe is Pedro Neto. He seems like a key option for Xabi Alonso, and scored today. But speaking in his press conference after the game, Alonso couldn’t guarantee the winger would stay after consistent links with moves to Saudi Arabia.
Alonso fails to guarantee Neto stays

“No, in football I don’t guarantee anything, not anyone. But I was very happy with Pedro. He did really well, he played with a lot of energy. He is going to be very important for the team for the whole season because he has different special qualities. He is a threat in one-v-one, he attacks very well in the space, he is strong, he is competitive.
“I am happy that he scored, he was really close to scoring another one. I am very happy with Pedro.”
We’re not huge Neto fans, but we can see why Alonso likes him and why he could be very useful for this year. It would be a real surprise if he goes at this stage.
