Chelsea are making progress in their pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to Bild (via the Express).

Vidal is widely considered one of the best players in the middle of the park anywhere in the world. The midfield general worked alongside Chelsea manager Antonio Conte during his time at Juventus.

It looks as though Conte is keen to reunite with Vidal at Stamford Bridge. German publication Bild report that Chelsea have taken the ‘first steps’ towards singing the Chile international from Bayern.

Bild believe that Bayern are open to the idea of parting with Vidal, and a move to Stamford Bridge to link-up with former boss Conte could be an appealing option for him.

The prospect of him lining up alongside N’Golo Kante in midfield in SW6 is utterly mouthwatering. Let’s hope that this move materialises.
