Transfers: Deal agreed – new centre-forward set to sign with terms agreed last night

Chelsea have struck an agreement to sign Gonzalo Higuain on-loan from Juventus, according to Sky Italy.

Higuain was mentioned as a potential target for Chelsea over the summer, but the player himself noted that the interest in signing him in SW6 started and ended with Maurizio Sarri.

Months have passed and it’s become increasingly clear that Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud are not sufficient options for us in attack. A new striker will have been top of Sarri’s shopping list this month, and it looks as though he’ll get his wish.

Sky Italy reported last night that terms have been agreed to take Higuain to Chelsea, cutting short his time as an AC Milan player. The deal would be an initial six-month loan with the possibility of extending it by another 12-months.

Is this good business, Blues? Will we finally have a striker capable of finding the back of the net? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter @TalkChelsea.
