Chelsea are closer to selling Alejandro Garnacho than we ever would have predicted, according to the latest reports.

A few days ago, the chances of Alejandro Garnacho leaving Chelsea this summer looked very slim indeed, as the Blues make it clear they wouldn’t accept loan offer for the winger.
However, now we’ve got Bobby Vincent of Football.London telling us that a deal is “close.”
Things really are moving quickly. Garnacho has a €50m price tag, similar to the £40m Chelsea paid Manchester United for him a year ago.
It’s also noted that he’s not yet been seen in preseason training under new manager Xabi Alonso, which began on Thursday. That’s always a sure sign that a player is looking to move, or that the club are looking to move them.
Garnacho could leave after one poor season

Garnacho’s move to Chelsea has gone about as badly as most Blues predicted when it became clear a year ago that the move was happening.
We’re not sure how they’re going to persuade anyone to pay that much – and there is no mention of who the deal might be “close” with. But even if this is an exaggeration, it gives up hope that a deal can be done at some point this summer.
In other news…
Reece James has been struggling for fitness for England, but he made an impact last night and could yet play a huge role in this World Cup.
Fabrizio Romano is still pushing the story about potential transfer interest in Alejandro Garnacho, and has even gone as far as naming one of the interested clubs.
