Chelsea are in advanced talks with Arsenal over signing England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
TalkChelsea have learned that Oxlade-Chamberlain is extremely interested in moving to Stamford Bridge having rejected a lucrative contract offer with the Gunners.
Oxlade-Chamberlain failed to impress during Arsenal’s 4-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, but Antonio Conte is optimistic that he could help him unlock his potential in a Chelsea shirt.
Chelsea are said to be prepared to pay as much as £35M in order to secure Oxlade-Chamberlain’s services, which is a reflection of the club’s desperation entering the final few days of the transfer window.
Barring any major hiccups, it appears likely that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be a Chelsea player before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in signing the England international, but at the time of writing it looks as though the Blues have pipped them to the post.
Chelsea are optimistic that as many as three players will arrive before the end of the week. Marina Granovskaia has been hard at work and it is expected that the business that is done in the next few days will reflect that.
