Chelsea are asking an incredible ambitious amount of money for the transfer of Liam Delap, who signed for £30m a year ago.

The Athletic’s Deal Sheet for this week is out, and as ever there’s lots of interesting information in there about Chelsea’s plans for the rest of the summer.

With nine incoming transfers already completed, the focus is of course on those who will be leaving.

There are a host of youngsters who are set for loans, and a number of players who are edging towards permanent exits as talks for the likes of Benoit Badiashile hot up.

One particularly eye catching mention is of Liam Delap. Johnson reports that Chelsea want in excess of £50m for the striker, whom they signed for £30m a year ago. And here we were thinking they were being ambitious asking £25m for Marc Guiu!

Quite how they think they’ll get anything close to that is mind boggling. If it’s true that that’s what they’re asking, Delap better start preparing himself for a loan, because there will be no permanent move at that price.

In other news…

Reggie Walsh is close to signing a new Chelsea contract and leaving to join Wigan on loan, Ben Jacobs has reported.

Enzo Fernandez increasingly looks like he will be staying at Chelsea after offered failed to materialise at the hefty £120m asking price the club put on his head.

Benoit Badiashile is another item on Chelsea’s agenda they’d love to tick off, and it sounds like progress is finally being made on moving him on.
