Chelsea are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio, according to Don Balon.
The Premier League champions are stuck in a tough spot. After a string of poor results, the pressure is piling onto manager Antonio Conte. It is unclear whether he will last the season, let alone be in charge when the 2018/19 campaign kicks off.
What we could need for some reinvigoration is further reinforcements in the transfer market. Not a plethora of sub-standard players, like we have recruited recently, rather two or three top class players that would have an immediate impact on our starting eleven.
Asensio could be one of those players. As per Don Balon, Chelsea are keen to bring the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge, in a move that could pave the way for Eden Hazard to join the La Liga heavyweights.
It’s by no means an ideal situation, we don’t want to be selling our best players, but Asensio has the potential to be one of the best players in the world. Let’s get this one over the line.
