Chelsea’s attempts to upgrade their wide options last summer really fell flat – Alejandro Garnacho was so poor that he’s already up for sale, and Jamie Gittens was either bad or injured all year.
It’s no wonder the Blues are being linked with yet more options in attack. A report from CaughtOffside today says that the Blues are looking at Jonathan Rowe, the Englishman who is currently playing at Bologna. He netted 3 league goals for them last season.
Rowe linked with return to English football

While Rowe shows plenty of promise, we’re not sure we’ve seen enough of him to believe that he’s really at a Chelsea level yet. We can imagine the club keeping an eye on him, but until the like of Garnacho have moved on, there’s surely no room for another attacker.
If new signing Geovany Quenda impresses in preseason, or if Xabi Alonso is planning to play a back 5, we may not even try to sign a wide attacker at all.
In other news…
Chelsea have been linked with a precocious young talent who is already picking up senior international caps.
There are all sorts of rumours flying around at the moment, including one about Chelsea wanting to sign a midfielder from Brazil who has already had one spell in the Premier League.
