Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
This news comes from the reliable RMC Sport, as translated and reported by the Metro. Maurizio Sarri is thought to be concerned by his his current options in midfield, and Auoar is thought to have emerged as a potential target for the club.
The report claims that Auoar is valued in the region of £30M by Lyon, which could provide a relatively cheap option for Sarri to further our quality in the middle of the park. Auoar is also just 20-years-old, so it could prove to be a worthy investment.
Our pursuit of Auoar would only make sense if we are not able to purchase Mateo Kovacic on a permanent basis. Further limiting Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s minutes on the pitch would be a hindrance to their development.
