It’s been genuinely hard to keep up with Chelsea’s transfer activity in the last 24 hours. Both in outgoing and incoming deals, there’s a lot on.
Buried beneath talk of Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap going out and the likes of Emi Martinez coming in was an update on Marc Guiu.
It’s been clear all summer that the former Barcelona striker is up for sale, but we’ve barely had a whiff of any concrete interest. Now there’s talk that a Serie A side could come calling.
Chelsea and Napoli in talks over striker deal

Romano says that Napoli are bidding for the target man, with Chelsea wanting an ambitious £25m fee. That’s not going to happen – and talks currently are at a more realistic £15m level. That would still represent a profit for Chelsea, on a player who has played very little.
The Blues also want a sell on fee in the deal. If Guiu goes it would mean three strikers sold in a week, impressive work from the sporting directors.
Guiu wants the move over proposals he’s had from Spain, and personal terms are “almost agreed.” From nowhere, this deal suddenly has a lot of momentum.

A deal to sign Honest Ahanor from Atalanta is getting very advanced, according to Fabrizio Romano, who says a €40m deal is being done.
Chelsea are also debating whether to add Emi Martinez before the window closes – “internal talks” are ongoing says Fabrizio Romano.
