The rumours about Chelsea interest in Manu Kone haven’t really convinced us yet. But if we keep hearing the whispers about them being real, we may eventually be convinced.
The Blues are looking to trim down their midfield because of their failure to qualify for European football next season. That’s led to the sale of Andrey Santos to Manchester United. So to follow that by spending money on a new midfielder wouldn’t make much sense – but that wouldn’t be the first time these sporting directors have done something which doesn’t make sense.
Chelsea jump on winger negotiations to try cheeky Kone bid

A TeamTalk report today follows up on chatter from yesterday that the Blues are keen on Roma’s Kone, who has just been knocked out of the World Cup with France.
Apparently the fact that we’re looking to sell Diego Moreira from Strasbourg to Roma, and the Italian club are also looking at taking Alejandro Garnacho on loan, has meant plenty of meetings between the two ownerships where Kone’s name has been mentioned.
