Chelsea nonsensically linked with sub-par £5M Courtois replacement

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is reportedly on our shortlist to replace Thibaut Courtois.

We’re rioting if this one happens.

Courtois looks to be off to Real Madrid. It’s disappointing, but no disaster. We’ll be fine if he’s replaced with a goalkeeper of similar quality.

Hart isn’t one. Five-years ago, perhaps, but he’s nothing more than a laughing stock nowadays. He wasn’t even good enough for West Ham.

Despite that, The Sun claim that Hart is an option for us. He’s on the shortlist to replace Courtois. The former England number one is valued in the region of £5M.

Hart is home-grown and affordable, the benefits of signing him stop here. He’s not the goalkeeper we need, not even close.

We’re taking The Sun‘s report with a huge pinch of salt. We don’t believe for a second that the club would be naive enough to think we can head into the season with Hart between the sticks.

Not to mention that he was shunned by Pep Guardiola due to issues with his distribution. Maurizio Sarri would no doubt have similar concerns.
