Chelsea have told Leicester City that they are unwilling to spend more than £30 million on England midfielder Danny Drinkwater, reports The Sun.
With Antonio Conte looking to strengthen his midfielder options after the departure of fan favourite Nemanja Matic to Manchester United earlier in the week, the 27-year-old has been identified as a possible replacement for the Serbian destroyer, claims The Sun.
However, as per The Sun, the Premier League champions have told the Foxes that they are unwilling to pay more than £30 million for the England international who made 31 appearances for Leicester last season.
According to the same publication, Antonio Conte was interested in taking Drinkwater to Stamford Bridge last season when he arrived at the club. However, after signing N’Golo Kante – Drinkwater’s then midfield partner – the Blues decided they would not be able to tempt the 2016 Premier League champions to part with another of their key players following their title win.
Yet, it appears that Antonio Conte has returned to get his man.
